Weekly Update from Rich Muny, VP of Player Relations
Over the past few weeks, I have shared with you information regarding Full Tilt Poker remission, sharing this as fast as I have received it. This week, I received information on who is to be excluded from the remission process. I received this from multiple trusted sources who received it directly from Claims Administrator Garden City Group.
I contacted GCG regarding this matter. They were tight-lipped but did not deny its authenticity. Based on this and on the sources providing the information, I am comfortable sharing this with you. So, here is the information on who is to be excluded from remission:
The following persons are excluded from the Remission process and are not eligible for payment from the Full Tilt Poker (“FTP”) Fund:
i. A past or present employee of FTP or any of its past or present affiliates;
ii. A past or present vendor of FTP that received compensation through FTP players’ accounts;
iii. A past or present Team Full Tilt player;
iv. A past or present shareholder of FTP, Tiltware LLC, Kolyma Corporation A.V.V., Pocket Kings Ltd., Pocket Kings Consulting Ltd., Filco Ltd., Vantage Ltd., Ranston Ltd., Mail Media Ltd., or Full Tilt Poker Ltd.;
v. A past or present officer or director of FTP, Tiltware LLC, Kolyma Corporation A.V.V., Pocket Kings Ltd., Pocket Kings Consulting Ltd., Filco Ltd., Vantage Ltd., Ranston Ltd., Mail Media Ltd., or Full Tilt Poker Ltd. or any of their past or present affiliates;
vi. A defendant in any civil action or a claimant in any forfeiture action brought by the Department of Justice related to the violations alleged in this action, or any related action (or any of his or her affiliates, assigns, heirs, distributees, spouses, parents, children, or controlled entities); and
vii. A person who, as of the Petition filing deadline, has been the subject of criminal charges related to the violations alleged in this action, or any related action (or any of his or her affiliates, assigns, heirs, distributees, spouses, parents, children, or controlled entities). |
In just five days, GCG will start accepting applications for remission of Full Tilt Poker balances. Be sure to pay close attention to the dates, as the window is short. GCG will start accepting applications for remission on September 16th. The deadline for applications is November 15th.
Recap: Congressional Award Charity Poker Tournament
This week, PPA was proud to a sponsor a charity poker tournament in Washington D.C. to benefit Congressional Award — a non-partisan charity supported by Congress that encourages youth volunteerism.
Executive Director John Pappas, Grassroots Director Drew Lesofski, Director of Membership & PokerPAC Bryan Spadaro, Member Relations Specialist Dave McGoldrick, and many local PPA members were all on hand to represent the poker community at this important event.
Dennis Phillips sitting with Major Wes Deaver
PPA was pleased to arrange for poker pro Dennis Phillips to headline the event, where we were joined by more than a dozen members of Congress and more than 100 Congressional Chiefs of Staff.
Dennis once again proved to be a great ambassador for the game as he interacted with the crowd in his signature St. Louis Cardinals cap. Representative Billy Long (R-MO), who chaired the event, surprised the crowd — and Dennis — by providing replica Cardinals hats for everyone playing in the event.

The highlight of the evening was when PPA member Major Wes Deaver of the United States Marine Corps came up to introduce himself and thanked John Pappas “for what you are doing for poker players.” While John graciously accepted his kind words, he reminded Major Deaver that all Americans are truly grateful for his service and what PPA seeks to accomplish pales in comparison.
Dennis Phillips with Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA)
It was a terrific evening that showed how poker can bring people together, close political divides, and be a fun activity to support a worthy cause.
