Weekly Update from Rich Muny, VP of Player Relations
I am pleased to announce #Fight4Poker, a new component of the Poker Daily Action Plan that is optimized for use with mobile devices! It is also optimized to generate maximum retweets and shares on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Google+. I hope you will take a look and will participate in this important action each day. It takes less then ten seconds per day to do, allowing poker players and enthusiasts a great means to tell lawmakers quickly and easily that we demand our right to play!
Take Action
Let’s send prefilled, fully editable tweets to Senator Jon Kyl and Senator Harry Reid: HERE and HERE.
Let’s retweet today’s #Fight4Poker action plan HERE, share it on our Facebook walls HERE, and share it via Google+ HERE. As the plan is self-contained on these social networking sites (i.e., the links to the prefilled tweets are contained in the tweets and posts themselves), our promotion of it can get us lots of new participants!
Bookmark the #Fight4Poker plan on Twitter. Simply click HERE, select the gear icon on the upper right of the browser window, and select “save search.” For future actions, simply to go “saved searches” from your mobile device’s Twitter app to access that day’s plan!
I understand not everyone will choose to sign up for Facebook, Twitter, or Change.org to participate in these kinds of actions. As an alternate, I encourage reaching out to Congress via a phone call. Simply visit theppa.org/takeaction and scroll down to item #2 for talking points and a lookup tool for your Congressman’s Washington D.C. office phone number. Thanks!
PPA at the WSOP®
Key poker supporter Congressman Joe Barton gave the Shuffle Up and Deal command at the WSOP. While addressing the poker community, he endorsed the work of PPA and asked everyone there to join. He also highlighted the terrific work Texas Asst. State Director Matt Allen is doing for the community:
Rep. Barton giving the Shuffle Up and Deal at the WSOP
On behalf of Executive Director John Pappas, 2004 WSOP Champion & PPA Board Member Greg Raymer, Director of Grassroots & External Affairs Drew Lesofski, Director of Membership & PokerPAC Bryan Spadaro, and Member Relations Specialist Dave McGoldrick, I wish to thank everyone who stopped by the PPA WSOP booth to join, donate, chat, or debate the optimal path to success in our fight. I had a great time and was honored to have had the opportunity to meet so many of you there!

The stakes are really high now. Take the U.S. Online Poker Survey 2012 and win a Free KINDLE FIRE!
Five to ten minutes time answering important questions in late December from almost 10,000 PPA members helped provide crucial opinions and comments to convince federal & state legislators that Americans have a right to legislated, regulated online poker. Now is your opportunity to make your voice heard and join your fellow members. “Go All In” by both further supporting our cause and earning a chance at another great prize. Click here to help bring about change. (for mobile version, click here)
Working together with U.S. Gaming Survey, the PPA has created poker specific surveys to help us better understand the playing community and in turn help us better advocate for your interests in Washington DC. Once you’ve fully completed the survey, your name will be eligible to enter a drawing for a brand new KINDLE FIRE TABLET COMPUTER. We remind you, the survey is completely anonymous, and your personal information will not be shared with anyone. Click here to begin the survey and help the PPA help you! (for mobile version, click here) The survey will remain open until 5PM July 23rd. The KINDLE FIRE prize winner will be announced on July 25th.
