years.  Prior to taking a full-time
position as vice president of government affairs for the Poker Players Alliance
(PPA) he was a public affairs consultant for the Washington PR firm Dittus
Communications.  During his four years at
Dittus, Pappas served as a media and policy advisor for dozens of Fortune 500
companies, start-up firms, trade associations and grassroots organizations like

Needed: Local PPA Members To Attend Washington, DC Hearing On Online Gambling

The Poker Players Alliance is making progress and Congress is listening. This Friday, June 8th, the House Financial Services Committee is scheduled to hold a hearing on H.R. 2046 a bill that would affirmatively license and regulate online poker in the United States. Join local PPA members and attend the congressional hearing and show your support!

We must demonstrate to lawmakers that there is broad support for protecting our right to play the game online. So wear your PPA t-shirt with pride and attend the hearing this Friday at 10:00 AM across the street from the U.S. Capitol.

PPA Membership Explodes to Nearly 500,000

PPA President calls on Washington State Members

I wanted to let you know that lawmakers in your state are taking the right steps to roll back the new Washington law that makes it a criminal offense to play poker on the Internet.  The Poker Players Alliance supports the bill introduced by State Representative Chris Strow House Bill 1243 which would remove the criminal penalties from playing games of skill online like poker.
