Weekly Update from Rich Muny, VP of Player Relations
With Election Day just around the corner, PPA has launched “The Jokers“, a new advocacy effort highlighting state and federal lawmakers up for re-election who have supported federal and/or state prohibitions on Internet poker in the past year.
The Jokers webpage, at /the-jokers, is this year’s version of PPA’s annual Congressional Ratings Guide. The Jokers spotlights every lawmaker who has sided with Sheldon Adelson this year in his effort to deny Americans their right to play Internet poker.
Through this new webpage, we can all easily contact each lawmaker via social media, email, phone or fax, urging these politicians to reassess their stance on Internet poker. I hope you will take a moment to check out the site and to contact these lawmakers with your opinion on their efforts to take our freedoms from us. It’s time to take the jokers out of the deck!
Webcast: Poker Advocacy with Rich Muny
On this week’s Poker Advocacy with Rich Muny webcast, Dan Cypra of PocketFives joined me for a terrific discussion on Sheldon Adelson’s anti-poker efforts. This was followed by a panel featuring PPA TX State Director Matt Allen and WA poker activist Curt Woodard. The panel discussed Sheldon Adelson, TX Gov. Rick Perry, and the Poker Daily Action Plan. You won’t want to miss this!

Next Monday’s show (10/27) will feature a live interview with 2008 & 2012 GOP presidential candidate former Rep. Ron Paul! Dr. Paul is a terrific champion of the right to play. I am looking forward to speaking with him and I hope to see you there.
Yours truly with Dr. Paul at last month’s Liberty Political Action Conference
Poker Advocacy with Rich Muny airs live Monday at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on OnTilt Radio. Each show features great guests and the best discussion on poker legislation. Please be sure to tune in at www.ontiltradio.com each week for the live show.
PA Lawmakers Tell Congress to Fold
Last week, a bipartisan group of Pennsylvania State House members introduced a symbolic resolution to tell the U.S. Congress to oppose the proposed federal ban on Internet poker. H.R. 1095 followed in the footsteps of a similar resolution that was recently approved by the New Jersey legislature telling Congress to respect the rights of states to authorize Internet poker.
While introduction of the Pennsylvania measure was more of a symbolic gesture, as the state’s legislative session expired late last week, we are nonetheless encouraged that state lawmakers are stepping out to defend our interests and the prerogatives of their respective states. PPA issued a release applauding the Pennsylvania bill, which I encourage you to read (here).
