Weekly Update from Rich Muny, VP of Player Relations
It sure was a terrific week. We as an organization and as a community are all ecstatic that, last Friday, many Full Tilt Poker victims received their balances in full. In fact, many have taken to calling it Green Friday.
Full Tilt Poker Claims Administrator Garden City Group will continue working through the undisputed petitions, moving from there to disputed ones. I encourage you to read an article featuring PPA Executive Director John Pappas for more on the disputed balance process and timeline.
Recovering our player balances has been a lengthy, trying process, and being organized made a major difference. I wish to thank everyone who did their part to ensure we stood as one and, of course, PokerStars for making player repayment possible by purchasing the assets of Full Tilt Poker.
Many players have told me they are donating 10% of their recovered funds to PPA. I will not ask those who received repayment to donate a specific percentage, but I do ask that everyone consider the value of us being organized as a community. Can we count on you to help the community keep up the fight?
Bluff Power 20
I am pleased to share that PPA Executive Director John Pappas returned to the Bluff Power 20 this year. It is a well-deserved honor that shows the strength of the organized community in making change happen by fighting as one and, of course, in John’s leadership. Congratulations John!
Webcast: Poker Advocacy with Rich Muny
WA poker activist Curt Woodard and poker journalist Earl Burton joined me live on this week’s Poker Advocacy with Rich Muny webcast for a terrific panel discussion. We discussed the Full Tilt Poker remission payments, poker advocacy and the PPA in general. I hope you will listen to this week’s podcast.
