Weekly Update from Rich Muny, VP of Player Relations

I always enjoy meeting with the poker community to discuss the issues on everyone’s mind. I think it is very important to meet with everyone, so I do it as often as I can. This week, I had the pleasure of going to the Breeders’ Cup Poker Tournament in greater Louisville (only an hour from my home) to meet with fellow poker players.

It was a great event. I was very happy to hear of the general enthusiasm for the fight for our rights. The community is genuinely enthused by the recent Congressional hearing on online poker/gaming issue and by the progress of HR 2366, the Online Poker Act.

I am proud that we are continuing to take this fight to our opponents. In the dark days of 2006, when the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act passed, the forward momentum we have now seemed hard to imagine. It is gratifying that, while we may remain underdogs, there is a feeling that we have some wind at our backs. I thank all of you for that.

So, let’s keep this up! Please take a moment today to send your elected representatives snail mail letters telling them we wish for them to support our right to play. It will take just a couple of minutes! Again, thank you all for taking the time to stand up for our right to play.

  3. The option to open as an .RTF file will open the letters in your default word processing program.
  4. Simply print, sign, and send!
  5. Have your friends, family, spouse, significant other, and everyone else send their own letters as well.
Thank you for participating and for allowing me the honor of serving the community in this capacity!

Interviews

PPA comes before poker media to take on the tough questions as often as possible, as the questions we receive at these interviews are representative of the issues in which the poker community is most interested.

I appeared on Short Stacked Radio last Tuesday as well (click here to listen…I come on at time point 1:29:38), where I answered many member questions. I will be back on their program this evening (11/8) at 9:30 pm ET. You can listen live at http://shortstackedradio.com/radio. If you have a question for me that you would like me to address on the show, please email it to me so I can answer it for you.

I was also on the OnTiltRadio Podcast last week for a comprehensive interview (click here to listen). I hope you will find this of interest as well.

Thank you again for your support!
