  1. Potential 2012 GOP Presidential nominee Gary "Governor Veto" Johnson has a page at his site directed at online poker players. He also recently registered and posted at one of the biggest online poker forums, 2+2. He supports legalization and regulation of online gambling and believes consumers should have the right to spend their money how they
    want too.

    His 2+2 thread is at:

His poker page on his site is at: http://www.garyjohnson2012.com/poker

His biggest issues currently are name recognition and funding. These are two areas where I believe as a PPA member and avid poker player myself that the PPA and it's members could help out with. He is definitely the real deal. He keeps campaign promises as evidenced by his record while he was Gov. of New Mexico for two terms and would put a "friend of poker" in the White House. On the gubernatorial campaign trail he stated he
would sign any compacts made between the tribes and the state. Then, while Gov. in 1995, he signed several(14 if memory serves) Class III gaming compacts with tribes in New Mexico. Later that year, he even fought for it in court. Although he lost the court battle, it was a major step in bringing tribal casinos to New Mexico. With his "Cost & Benefit Analysis" approach to governing, he understands the benefits of legalized gaming
far outweigh the associated risks. He a calm voice of reason and I know would be proud to have the PPA member's support.

I just donated $100 to Gary Johnson. If every PPA member in the U.S. got behind this man, he would win the Presidentancy in a cake walk. It's now up to us. The Democrats have promised lots and delivered nothing. It's time to go with a Republican.

  3. Just found out after losing the court battle he lobbied the legislature in New Mexico. Then when they passed the compacts, he signed them for a second time. So he followed through and got it done for New Mexico.

You can Google, "Indian gaming history New Mexico" for the details.

P.S. For those that can't donate. You can follow @GovGaryJohnson on Twitter and http://www.facebook.com/govgaryjohnson on Facebook. Retweets followers and @ mentions are watched by media outlets. His biggest issues are fundraising and name recognition. Social networking can help big on the second one. Especially @ Mentions by those with a good number of followers.
