To all PPA Members and especially those in Colorado.

When it becomes evident that your philosophy and view of the world is no longer compatible with that of the organization for which you have given your time, money and dedication, then courtesy (at least) dictates that you give your friends and co-volunteers an explanation of why you are parting ways with them.

The Poker Players Alliance is a great group of people working to accomplish what is best for the poker players they represent. John Pappas, Drew Lesofski, et al are hard working proponents of the rights of poker players and great stewards of the game. They are, however, a one trick pony. Their issue is poker, only poker, and nothing else. To accomplish anything in today’s world, it is often true that you have to be that way. I understand this and I applaud the work that they do. I wish them every success.

That said I have to tell you, one and all, that I can no longer lie down with skunks and pretend that they are anything else. The unholy alliance between the PPA and the Democratic Party is more that I can continue to tolerate and remain as a State Director. The Democrats have come to represent all that I dislike and distain about the politics of Washington. Simply put, I love my country, I hate my current government. The reasons are many and varied, but those who know me know I am the antipathy of the bleeding heart liberal. It is my heartfelt opinion that the liberals are destroying my country and I cannot support them in that effort in any way.

Therefore I have tendered my resignation as Colorado State Director. It is, I believe, better for the PPA and it is definitely better for me to part ways now. Thank you all for the support and encouragement you have given me. See you at the poker tables.

Obviously I respect your decision Gary, but I also ask you to reconsider it.

One of the main points in favor of keeping the PPA a "one trick pony" is to allow it to be bi-partisan. Our members and our leaders come from all political persuasions. Most of the leadership of the PPA is Republican actually. And we support Republicans who favor poker rights with just as much (if not more) enthusiasm than we support Democrats who favor poker rights.

I do not see a contradiction in recognizing in specific instances that candidate A will be better for the country but candidate B will be better for poker. And as PPA State Director it is your job in that case to remind the folks of the candidates position on poker. But that does not mean you must vote for candidate B, nor that you must tell others to vote for candidate B. It means that while wearing your State Director hat you simply tell folks that candidate B is better for poker and let the individual decide from there. Is it that hard to say, even if you despise candidate B, "The PPA recognizes candidate B's support for poker rights, thanks him/her for it, and urges all CO voters to take that into account in the upcoming election" ?

I am familiar with your work as CO State Director and have admired your effectiveness. I hope you will think twice before making this decision permanent.

Thank you sir for your kind words. My decision is final. There is more to it than I've stated but those issues are more personal and not for public discussion. Maybe some day you and I can sit down at a poker table and we'll talk. Thanks for all you do.

Perhaps you feel it is in the best interest of poker players to alienate the democrats. If that is the case, although I know nothing else about you, I am glad to see you go. Enjoy the tea party and say hello to the red queen.

I applied to be a Director here in Arizona, but never got an answer back. Now all my money was taken in the EwalletXpress scam. PPA never helped me there.
