With so many excellent poker blogs and forums out there, most of us are either new to this space or seldom check it out. Perhaps this year we can change that with some news and views about Texas poker and what's going on from the PPA perspective. I would enjoy hearing from others! I can be located on Linkedin, or on my website at http://johntalmadge.com. I teach at UT Southwestern Medical School and practice psychiatry and addiction medicine in Dallas. I'm mostly a home game player, tired of going to Shreveport or Oklahoma to find a brick and mortar game. I played the WSOP senior event last year, but a big day for me is in the $200 range, and I play for fun.

Well Doc since none of your Texas colleagues want to respond, I will. I have a sister that lives in Brownwood and loves poker. She plays as often as she can and I hear that there are some great “underground” games in and around Brownwood. There are probably some near you as well. Search them out and don’t “just” play online. Bad for the psyche.
