    Greetings all!

My name is Nick Wellman and I am your PPA Director for the State of Oregon. I would appreciate hearing from any PPA members in Oregon.

  2. Hi Nick

I live in Southern Oregon and am very involved in Charity Poker Tournaments. I very much appreciate what the PPA is doing for fundraisers and Charity Poker. I can't wait to meet you. Are you at the WSOP in Vegas this week?

    Hello Fellow Oregonians,

I am a poker player on the central coast. Have you both called our Congresspersons about the finalization of UIGEA?

Please do if you haven't, this is outrageous! In this already stifled economy why are they taking away evermore sources of income.

    Look forward to some discussion.

Hello I just signed up. I live in Beaverton, Oregon and have been playing online off and on for about 4 years now. Anyone in the Portland area?

    Contacted our reps today.

One thing that I see missing in the arguments for legalization/regulation is the safety and mobility of our money. I remember being able to Bonus hop from site to site, moving pieces of my bankroll to supplement my winnings with deposit bonus offers made by the sites. Under the current regulations it takes a lot of time to move the money and some 3rd party processors charge ridiculous withdrawal fees.

good point penquin, i have not been playing as long as you and the nitty gritty details are easily brushed over by me (inexperienced).

I am over on the coast.

Hopefully the menedez or frank bill goes, but they both may need tweaking...

Here is a letter from our state Rep...

    Dear Daniel:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act, HR 2267. I appreciate your thoughts and concerns regarding this legislation.

This legislation would create an Internet Gambling Licensing Program to be overseen by the Secretary of the Treasury and required for any U.S. based internet gambling service. The Treasury would be required to develop a program of fees and penalties. States and Indian tribal authorities would be permitted to opt-out of Internet gambling activities within their respective jurisdictions.

Currently, HR 2267 is pending the Consideration of the House Committee on the Judiciary, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Financial Services. As HR 2267 makes its way through the legislative process, I will follow it closely and take your concerns into consideration prior to any action.

Thank you again for contacting me and should you have any further questions or concerns, please contact my office by calling (202) 225-5711 or 1-877-301-KURT. To keep updated on my activities, please sign up for my e-newsletter by visiting my website at http://www.schrader.house.gov.

    Sincerely,

    Z
