I just read this article from the AP and I frustrated. Here is the passage that really struck me.

"But Roberta Combs, president of the Christian Coalition of America, which opposes online gambling, was not moved by any of that.
"We still don't support it," she said in a telephone interview. "When you start gambling on the Internet, it's just too accessible. You can do it from home, and it's so much easier. We just feel like that's an issue that has a tendency to break up the family"

I am a Christian woman that happens to play poker and I am disheartened by her statements. Does my playing poker make my relationship with God any less meaningful? My poker playing is going to destroy my family and break up our home? It really bothers me when religious groups use God's name in vein. I was raised to believe God is tolerant and unjudgemental. I was also brought up to believe that God would judge me and my actions on the day of judgement. So Roberta Combs allow God to judge me and I respectfully ask that you focus on God's work and not your self-righteous missions.

I just called the CCA and left a message expressing my thoughts. Sorry guys to vent this but the statements she made really rocked me hard. I left a message for them. I am interested to hear a response.

  3. Yes, take it to them - here you're preaching to our choir, not theirs :)
Not to say that your post isn't welcome here, because it certainly is.

I just wish that we could do something to actually sway people that are that far away, but its not going to happen. Those people don't even consider that people should be free to do what they wish.
