  1. Hey Guys and Gals
There is a $150 buyin tournament tonite at the Jaycee's Center in Waldorf, MD. Top spot pays $ 10,000.00! 10 Spots are paid, 200 players. Live games will be available afterwards.

Hope to see some of you there.

I am supposed to moderate posts here. I do retro-moderation. That means after you post an article I may look at it and I may edit it or remove it. So I'm going to go out on a limb here.

I don't think that posting announcements for poker tournaments is aligned with the charter for this site. The site is to discuss the intersection of poker and public policy. Therefore my first impression was to delete this post.

But let's look at it another way. This was posted in the Maryland State forum, not the general forum. The PPA supports and send out emails about local charity tournaments. The function of this site is to provide peer support and grass roots activism. You guys (and gals) need to meet in meatspace, not just cyberspace.

A Jaycee tournament looks like a charity tournament. (hey, if it wasn't a charity tournament it would probably be illegal). So I hope money is raised for the cause. I hope people have fun. I hope the good name of poker is promoted.

Next time, please post the address and a phone number and maybe a link to a mapping program to make it easier for people to attend. Also, for the title, make it less generic. Maybe, "Maryland Poker Tournament Tonight" rather than just "Poker Tournament Tonight". [I just edited the Topic]

In the meantime, I'll wait for someone with more Brain than I such as The Engineer or Skallagrim to reply verifying this type of post is off topic and should be removed.
