  1. Michigan House and Senate Bills that would CLOSE your Local Charity Poker Room *** ACTION ALERT***

Have you read Michigan House bill 5121 & Senate bill 669? The wording is the same for each bill. The bills are proposing raising the price of a license to host a charity poker fundraiser from $50 / day to $250 / day.

    $1000 to *host* a Texas Hold'em Fundraiser!!!

I'm really cheesed that these legislators (Michael Switalski et. al.) think a 5x increase in price is ok. Do they really think charities struggling to make fewer and fewer resources serve more and more people can afford this type of price gouging?

If this bill passes, only four or five charity poker rooms in the state will survive. Charities will no longer have a place to raise money, dealers and room managers will be out of work.

Want to speak up? Find your representative and senator, send e-mail, dial the phone, send a text, or just yell really loud! Here's the letter I sent to my legislators - write your own, or copy & past mine (just sign it yourself!)
