All Colorado Members. On Wednesday, March 4 at 11:00 am, I (Gary Reed, Colorado State Director for the PPA) will be on the Mike Rosen Show(850 on the AM dial, KOA radio). Please consider tuning in and calling in to discuss poker in Colorado and specifically the Greeley case where PPA members were found not guilty of gambling because the defense successfully argued that poker is a game of skill. The District Attorney in this case has appealed the decision and that is, in fact, a good thing for us. Should we prevail at appeal, and most legal observers of this case think that we will, it will set a precedent in Colorado. Poker will be well on it’s way to being established as a game of skill, not subject to the gambling statutes. Where that will take us is open to debate however we, the State Chapter of the PPA, strongly believe that it will lead to poker coming out of the shadows and into the light. Much as California, Montana and other enlightened states have open poker in various venues, Colorado can enjoy much the same scenario. Let your voices be heard!
