I have been thinking about this for quite a while and even took some action on seeing what was possible. As you know slots were approved at tracks and it is logical that poker would be also approved if you could convince state lawmakers that it would be a strong revenue generator.

The state needs the money and we need access to legal rooms. I spoke with Yonkers raceway and they agreed that it would be a good idea but that their hands are tied by the state lawmakers.

Who is up for making this happen?

I live near a Racino in Candandaigua, NY (horse track with attached casino) which, of course, does not have poker tables (or any other table games-only slots, video poker, etc.)
What do we have to do to make this happen?
We do have a new Governor now who may be receptive to something like this.

The Chairman of the PPA Board of Directors also a former Senator for the State of New York and prominent lobbyist. You might want to contact Mr. D'Amato to see if there is any momentum to expanding casino operations to include poker. There is most definitely an agenda under the Cuomo admnistration to expand gambling operations in general.
