I wanted to warn everyone out there what will probably happen to them if they use credit cards to deposit money to gambling sites. I play on fulltiltpoker.com and I have made various deposits this month with my Mastercard which is actually an ATM/Debit card. Well today my bank cancelled my card because of those deposits. I found this out when attempting to go out to eat and my card was declined. I called my bank and the manager explained that my atm debit card had been cancelled du to online gaming and it would be "a while" before I would be elligible for a new card. Needless to say I closed that checking account and opened another one. My suggestion to everyone is to make your deposits soon using instant eChecks and manage your bankroll so that you do not have to make any other deposits. eChecks are safer bacause they do not show up on your bank statement as anything illegal, such as the website's name, online poker deposit, etc etc...

That seems weird considering the fact that this action didnt become illegal until yesterday. Did you happen to make a deposit yesterday because if you didnt then you wouldnt be at fault.

UIGEA applies only to transactions for gaming that was already unlawful under other laws. Poker is not unlawful under any federal law, and most states do not have laws against it.
