It was great to read the Colorado State Director's posting on the state of Poker in his State and urging Poker players to take action and be proactive instead of reactive.

As I have state a few times the state of poker In Maryland is not good and we have not heard a word from our State Director, which was appointed by the PPA? The PPA should remove inactive and missing Directors!

Hello fellow MS PPA Members. I have not seen any action come from the Maryland State Director. The State of MD needs a plan of action and if there is a plan in place please let us know where to find it. Thank you for listening.

The PPA is searching for a new state director now. They sent out an email looking for anyone who was interested, so be patient hopefully they will be picking someone soon.

Any follow up on this? I offered to serve as MD State Director but have not received any acknowledgment on my offer. I feel like we have some potential to organize and I hate to lose all this time. It seems like we have lost a year. If anyone is interested in meeting somewhere to discuss MD laws on gaming and potential reforms, I would be glad to host or meet in a bar. This is the kind of grass roots planning we need! Who is in?!?!

  12. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen:
I am your new State Director. My name is Larry Maske and I live in Beltsville, MD. Drew called me last week with the news of my appointment and asked me to wait until the letters were sent out and according to John, he got his.

There are a lot of things going on with poker in the federal arena right now, so Drew has been kind of tied up with that, that is why you haven't seen the press release.

I will welcome all the help I can get in this position, and will be working in the next few weeks to form an Ad Hoc State Committee to start working on our local ordinances and State laws to make this great game legal. Subman, I will definitely be asking you to use your contact list.

While I get up to speed, there are a few items you should look at to catch up on the news. The links are below.

I will post a brief bio shortly. Please email me at larry@wbmaske.com if you have any questions.

I thank you in advance for your patience while I get my feet wet.

Hi Guys, my name is Matt, i'm actually from the U.K. However i feel i must show my support as i am also a huge fan of poker and play as often as i can. I, as do my poker buddies (many of) wish you all the best and hope you have an outstanding victory! I would wish you good luck however we all know that poker is a game of skill, after reading up on things on the site i know you dont need luck because you already have the skill to win!
