Synopsis of Meeting, Saturday May 17, 2008

    Colorado Committee, Poker Players Alliance

    Present: Joe Michaels

    Brent Hoag

    Andy Kourkoulos

    Shirley Hayes

    Gary Reed

    Primary decisions:

Joe Michaels will be the Assistant State Director for the North Central Region of Colorado hereafter known as Region 1. This region encompasses the Denver Metro area and those Cities from Castle Rock north to the Wyoming border, between the Continental Divide and the Kansas border.

Brent Hoag is Joe’s assistant for this area. Andy Kourkoulos will be in charge of Communications and carry the title of Secretary for this region.

Region 2 for the State will be from approximately Castle Rock South to the New Mexico border and then from the Continental Divide east to the Kansas border. Headquarters for this region will be Colorado Springs.

Region 3 will be the remainder of the State from the Continental Divide West to the Utah border and from the Wyoming border to the New Mexico border. Headquarters for this area will be Grand Junction.

Efforts will begin immediately to form committees in regions 2 and 3. That effort will be primarily the responsibility of the State Director, Gary Reed.

Membership recruitment is of primary importance both for the standing committees and for members at large. All personnel will focus their efforts on this whenever playing, attending or in the presence of other Poker Players for whatever reason.

    Concerns:

Communications remains a high priority and past inadequacies were outlined. Membership materials, pamphlets, identity cards and T-Shirts promised by the National Committee have been slow in coming or have not arrived at all. Gary Reed promised to bring this issue up with Drew Lesofski, Director of External Affairs and Grassroots Organization for the PPA.

Meeting times and dates were discussed and a more favorable time was decided on. Either late afternoon or evening will be used in the future and every effort will be made to incorporate an opportunity for poker playing after each meeting.

A prototype Poker Chip with the PPA logo was displayed and unanimous approval was given to recommend that National adopt and distribute this item to any and all dues paying members. A small supply should be issued to all State Committees for distribution with sign up forms. Sign up forms, bumper stickers and the descriptive pamphlet should also be made available.

    Meeting concluded.

CO member here, let me know how I can help! I'm currently trying to spread the word through the league I currently play in, NPPL.

Justin, please contact Joe through his website above. I tried to email you, but it came back non-deliverable. However, I assure you that we would love to have your help in Northern Colorado.
