It is a little disconcerting that within the state of Louisiana, not a single poker player has a thing to say. I understand. We haven't had much to talk about in the last several years. Everytime someone tries to get a quasi-decent game going, whether it be in a bar or an expanded home game, they tend to get beaten about the head and shoulders by local/state law enforcement. Mostly, it's the authority shaking its proverbial finger at the "offenders" and a series of pointed threats that lead the average guy to fall on his sword and kill the game.

To be quite frank, I am tired of this practice. Sooner or later someone has to challenge the antiquated interpretations given to our state law. Notice, not a challenge to the law itself, but the interpretations and the breadth of that interpretation that some authorities appear to like to give it. As I say, "someone," (i.e., like somebody "I know") needs to take a stand, all the way to the Louisiana Supreme Court if need be.....

    Stay tuned.
