On July 25, Congresswoman Judy Biggert sent a letter to Henry Paulson, Secretary of the Treasury and Ben Bernanke Chairman of the Federal Reserve co- signed by Congressmen Christopher Shays, Jim Gerlach and Kevin McCarthy. The letter asks the Secretary and Chairman to bring clarity to the Federal Reserve Board’s and Treasury’s proposed regulations to implement UIGEA.
The letter was sent in response to the direct advocacy of our State Directors and the dedicated PPA members that meet with the above listed US Representatives after their vote on HR 5767. The best part is that all 4 voted NO on HR 5767 and Congresswoman Biggert’s letter demonstrates that the PPA’s grassroots efforts are right on track and effective.
