The Texas Card Players Association ( TCPA ) will be conducting multiple tournaments through-out the year (every quarter at least) at varying locations in Texas. Now we have been lucky because the last 2 have been in the Austin area.
This being the case, whenever the TCPA schedules a tournament in the Austin or San Antonio area the Cedar Park Poker Alliance CPPA will schedule a satellite tournament on the same day. As most TCPA tournaments start registration at 1730 hours (that’s 5:30 pm) our satellite will start at 1300 hrs (1pm) and end at 1600 hrs (4pm). The format will vary depending on how many registered players the CPPA satellite tournament seats. Example, if the CPPA sat has 20 players, it will be a Turbo format (blinds raise every 10-15 minutes, instead of 20 minutes). Additionally, the buy in will vary for the satellite depending on the buy-in for the TCPA tournament. Example, if the TCPA tournament entry is $200 and the CPPA satellite tournament only has 12 seated players, the registration fee for the CPPA tournament will be $20 each for a $240 total pot. 1st place will win $235 and 2nd place will win $5. Basically, there will be one TCPA entry for every (x) number of people needed to pay for an entry fee to the TCPA.
10 CPPA= 1 ticket , 20 CPPA= 2 tickets, 30 CPPA= 3 tickets.
Any satellite and TCPA tournaments are conducted out-side of the CPPA league points system. Satellites conducted by other leagues within the Austin Poker Alliance (APA ) are sponsored by that particular league and are at the discretion of that leagues director. Each league has a different format and unique rules. It is your responsibility to ensure that you understand how each league conducts business.
